MM22 Concerto for Cello and Orchestra

Giovanni Allevi, composer, pianist, and conductor, an icon of contemporary classical music, returns to share his moving art in four special concert events after his unstoppable international solo piano tour, which sold out in every city.

Accompanied by the Italian Symphony Orchestra, the composer, adored by younger generations, will present the world premiere of the “MM22 Concerto for Cello and Orchestra.” This piece, written during his hospital stay, is inspired by a melody of surprising beauty, derived from translating the word “Myeloma” into notes using a mathematical method previously employed by Bach. The melody unfolds into a poignant, anguished, rarefied, luminous, and deeply moving inner journey.
