Rachel Z & Omar Hakim Trio


Rachel Z and Omar Hakim are incredibly multifaceted musicians with world-class experience in the most varied languages, from jazz to fusion to pop music. Rachel has been a close collaborator of Peter Gabriel, Wayne Shorter, Stanley Clarke, Marcus Miller, Al Di Meola and Steps Ahead and has 13 acclaimed albums as a bandleader. Omar Hakim, trained in the court of Elvin Jones and Art Blakey, established himself as the drummer of the legendary Weather Report. In the jazz field he also worked with Miles Davis, George Benson and John Scofield, simultaneously starting a hyperbolic career as a session musician at the service of stars of the caliber of Sting, David Bowie, Mark Knopfler’s Dire Straits, Celine Dion, Mariah Carey, Madonna, Anita Baker and our Pino Daniele (paired with Rachel Z) and Jovanotti. With them for this acoustic project, the American double bass player Jonathan Toscano, with an important curriculum within the thriving New York jazz scene together with Gregoire Maret, Steve Wilson, Jeremy Pelt, Billy Kilson, George Garzone, Ben Perosky, Richie Morales, Minu Cinelu, Pheeroan Acklaff, Oz Noy and many others.
